The Friday Open Gym series will resume starting Friday, June 20 and run through Friday, August 15. Open Gym sessions will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and are open to children ages 9 and up, and will feature basketball along with other games and activities.

DETAILS: Friday Open Gym Series Returns for the Summer

The Sto-Rox school year may end in May, but come Monday, June 2 the district’s Summer Food Program will get underway. Breakfast and lunch will be available for the community at Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School every Monday through Friday, until Friday, August 22.

Breakfast: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Lunch: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Meals will also be served at Sto-Rox Upper Elementary, but only for student programs that take place at that building over the summer. These meals are free to all district residents age 18 and under, including those who are not enrolled in the district. No sign-ups are required.

UPDATE, 4/25/25: Details on Graduation Day and all senior events are now available here and in the News section of the district website. We can’t wait to see you at the Jr./Sr. High School on Friday, May 30!

Senior Breakfast - May 30 at 8:00 a.m. - meet in the cafeteria for a catered final class breakfast.
Graduation Practice - May 30 at 9:00 a.m. – meet in cafeteria, attendance mandatory.
Graduation Ceremony - May 30 at 7:00 p.m. on the High School Football Field, students arrive at 6:15 p.m. in cafeteria. Not on time, not in procession! Please dress properly; it’s your formal graduation. In the event of poor weather, graduation will be held in the gymnasium. Each student will receive 4 tickets at practice for indoor seating, extra tickets are not available. NOTE: The graduation ceremony will be livestreamed.

ORIGINAL POST: The Sto-Rox Class of 2025 Graduation Ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. at Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School. Watch this space, along with district social media channels and newsletters, for additional information.

Before the Graduation Ceremony takes place at 7:00 p.m. on May 30, a final class breakfast will be held that morning, at 8:00 a.m. Breakfast will be followed at 9:00 a.m. by Graduation Practice, which is mandatory for all graduating seniors.

The annual Senior Award Night ceremony will be held Wednesday, May 21 at 7 p.m. in the Jr./Sr. High School Auditorium. Seniors will be honored for achievements in the classroom, attendance, athletics, and so much more. Scholarships will also be awarded to seniors by local businesses and families. While this event is open to all seniors, those seniors receiving an award or recognition will be informed prior to the event.

The Sto-Rox High School Cheerleaders will be holding tryouts on Tuesday, May 20, from 4-6 p.m. outside the Jr./Sr. High School. Preceding this will be a multi-day tryout camp for cheerleaders from Monday, May 12 through Thursday, May 15 and Monday, May 19 also from 4-6 p.m. at the Jr./Sr. High School. All those who wish to tryout must attend tryout camp.

Requirements:
- No phones
- White shirt
- Black shorts
- Tennis shoes only
- Bring your own water bottle

Sto-Rox seniors will be cheered on by teachers and students - everyone from Kindergarteners to high schoolers - as they take one final walk through the district. Media are invited to cover the Sto-Rox Senior Walk on Monday, May 19, which will feature students waving handmade signs, lots of hi-fives and hugs, and tons of Viking Pride.

NOTE: Parents/guardians, this is an in-school event. Photos and videos will be posted to the district’s website and social media channels following its completion.

Join the community on Saturday, May 17 for a peace walk in memory of Denise Zellous, followed by the Sto-Rox Community Arts Festival at the Jr./Sr. High School. This free, family-friendly event will feature lots of great activities for all ages, not to mention food, a DJ, and dancing, plus our band and cheerleaders!

“Enchanted” is the theme of the 2025 Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School Prom! Tickets will go on sale from April 14 - 25 in the cafeteria during breakfast. Tickets are $85 apiece and non-refundable.
