3rd Annual SOUL Celebration/Title I Event
Date/Time: February 28, 12:30 p.m.
Families are welcome to join students at the Jr./Sr. High School for the 3rd annual SOUL Celebration. There will be poetry and art, games and activites, performances, food and much more during this reading-focused Title I Event.

Attendance Criteria for Students: Attendance (no more than 3 days absent), no OSS, and all seniors welcome.

The district’s youngest learners will celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of African-Americans through music, dance, and the arts. Events will take place over two days in late February:

• Kindergarten and 1st Grade

Thursday, February 27
• 9:30 a.m., SRPC Cafeteria
• 2nd and 3rd Grades

Join Infinite Lifestyle Solutions on Monday, February 24 from 5-7 p.m. at the Jr./Sr. High School for a community event that's all about love! You'll be able to use art to celebrate love and how it shows up in all of their lives, plus there will be refreshments and much more.

Sto-Rox Upper Elementary will hold a Black History Month Celebration on Friday, February 21. Parents and families are invited into the Upper Elementary Gym for a program starting at 1:15 p.m. that will include student performances and student projects.

The SRUE Beginning Band, SRUE Chorus, and Mr. Chris Scarnati’s Recorder Ensemble will perform, along a song performed by the entire student body. Students will also show off their Black History Month projects, showcasing the history behind Black figures in American History. Please join us!

NOTE: All guests will be screened by security prior to this event; no bags will be allowed.

The Primary Center’s school-wide Valentine’s Day parties will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025 from 2:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. in your child’s classroom. This in-school event will encourage students to participate in a Valentine card exchange, and they may bring in a decorated Valentine’s box or bag. We welcome parent volunteers to the Primary Center (with appropriate school clearances) to assist with the party and appreciate any contributions of snacks (individually packaged with a clear ingredient label), non-food items (stickers, pencils, or themed erasers), or party supplies. If you are interested in volunteering on party day, please contact your child’s teacher.

SAVE Leadership at the Jr./Sr. High School is organizing an event for 9th-12th graders and their families on Wednesday, February 5 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Jr./Sr. High School Auditorium and Cafeteria. The event will include a 5 p.m. screening of the documentary  “Repairing the World: Stories for the Tree of Life.” The documentary was screened at the second annual Eradicate Hate Student Summit in October of 2024, an event that Sto-Rox students took part in. There will be a dinner and discussion following the documentary screening. Attendees are asked to RSVP by Monday, February 3 at this link.

Sto-Rox Viking Alumni are invited to come out and join the community on Friday, January 31 for the winter edition of Alumni Night! Programming starts with dinner at 6 p.m., followed by comments from:

• Sto-Rox Coaches
• Sto-Rox Varsity Club

Afterward, alumni are encouraged to stay and watch the Sto-Rox Boys Varsity Basketball team take on Washington at 7:30 p.m. RSVP with Hope Schreiber, Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School Assistant Principal, at hschreiber@srsd.k12.pa.us.

We are so excited to celebrate our alumni as we head through the winter months. Please come out and join us for some basketball, fellowship, and fun!

Join Sto-Rox Upper Elementary on Friday, January 31 for a Celebration of Learning! With the first half of the year now complete, SRUE will recognize the accomplishments of students in each grade level. There will be three separate celebrations - one for each grade level - recognizing students’ work.

4th Grade • 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
5th Grade • 1 - 2 p.m.
6th Grade • 9 -10 a.m.

For families who wish to attend, please note that all visitors will be screened by security, and no bags will be allowed. We look forward to you joining us!
