UPDATE, 9/1/22:
There are few security items we would like to make clear to people attending Friday night’s game.
1. Everyone will be required to go through metal detectors.
2. Clear bags will be permitted (see policy below).
3. No standing on the fence.
4. No tobacco products allowed.
Additionally, if you are driving to the game, please park in the lot at Dale and Rosamond Streets. Handicapped parking will be available in the courtyard lot at Dale Street and Russelwood Avenue.
Clear Bag Policy:
The Sto-Rox School District has implemented this safety policy, making the security process more efficient and effective. We’re committed to ensuring your experience is second to none, and the safety of all our students, staff and fans is essential to maintaining this experience. Because of our commitment to your safety, we are implementing a new policy on bags brought into the events.
The policy affects the type and size of bags that are permitted into the stadium — not the items that you normally need to bring to a game. Each fan may carry in their pocket’s items such as keys, makeup, combs, phones, wallets, and credit cards. Fans will continue to be able to carry in blankets and jackets.
Bags that are clear plastic are permitted. Small clutch purses, approximately the size of a hand, or 4.5″ x 6.5″ with or without a handle or strap, may be carried into the stadium along with one of the clear bag options. An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at the gate. Diapers and wipes can be carried in a clear bag, however, diaper bags are not permitted. Each member of a family, including children, will be able to carry an approved clear bag and a clutch purse.

Graduates of the Sto-Rox School District will be recognized during the Vikings’ football game against Steel Valley on Friday, September 2nd, at 7:00 p.m. All Sto-Rox alumni are encouraged to attend, including former students, athletes, band members, and Vikettes. Below are a few questions and answers about the event. We will continue to post updates as we get closer to the big night.
Is this Homecoming? No. The Homecoming game will be played on Friday, September 23rd vs. Keystone Oaks. (Complete Football Schedule)
Who’s Invited? Everyone! We want as many Sto-Rox grads as possible.
Is this also for former coaches, Athletic directors, teachers, and administrators? Yes, The more the merrier!
Will there be a special entrance for these people? No. Just come on in as usual!
How/When will they be recognized? We’re still working on that; it looks like we’ll do some sort of announcement before the game. Stay tuned!
Will these people have to notify you ahead of time they are coming? Yes, we need an accurate head count. Please contact school board member Ken Hohman, at (412) 999-4343 or khohman@srsd.k12.pa.us.
Do alumni and their families have to pay to get in? Yes, but rest assured your money will continue to support critical Sto-Rox programs.
