A new school year is underway, and the Sto-Rox Marching Band is getting down to business. Rehearsals will be held Mondays and Thursdays after school, at the Jr./Sr. High School. The first rehearsal is set for Thursday, August 31. According to Band Director Loujaue McPherson, students who want to put in extra music practice can do so during last period. Additionally, the marching band is still looking for young men and women to join the band’s color guard.
Students who want to perform with the University of Pittsburgh's Marching Band on “Pitt Band Day” Saturday September 23 should go to the Pitt Marching Band webpage and sign up. The peformance will take place at halftime of the Pitt vs. University of North Carolina football game at Acrisure Stadium. Transportation will be provided.

Band Update:
Suellen Engelhard and Jes Bromley are taking the Jr./Sr. High School Band and Chorus members to Baltimore and Hershey Park in the Spring. Students will work with college professors in music clinics, giving them great opportunities to improve their skills and improve their future musical prospects.
