Road To Graduation: Important Dates For Seniors

UPDATE, 5/11/23 - This article was changed on Wednesday, May 10 to reflect the cancelation of the Grand March and was reposted on May 5 to make sure people see it when they come to the Sto-Rox School District website. This article was originally posted on March 7. We regret any confusion this may have caused for folks looking at this article in May for the first time.

ORIGINAL POST, 3/7/23: There are less than three months until the end of the school year, and for Sto-Rox seniors those months are going to fly by. See below for important dates, times, and events you need to be aware of, as compiled by Guidance Counselor Joe Herzing:

Caps and Gowns - The cost is $20, cash only, during homeroom in the Main High School Office. They are expected to be available in early May. (Purchase them early and hang them up to get the wrinkles out!) Seniors were emailed a survey to complete their information for cap and gown sizes and diplomas. Contact Mr. Herzing if your senior has not completed the survey.

Grand March - Unfortunately, this event has been canceled due to lack of interest.

Prom – Saturday, May 13 aboard the Gateway Clipper. Students should report by 5:00 p.m. to the Gateway Clipper on the Southside of Pittsburgh for boarding. The prom cruise departs at 5:30 p.m. and returns at 9:00 p.m. The cost is $80 per ticket.

Graduation Practice - Friday, June 2 at 9:00 a.m. Meet in the cafeteria, attendance is mandatory.

Graduation Ceremony - Friday, June 2 at 7:00 p.m. on the High School Football Field, students must arrive at 6:15 p.m. in the cafeteria. If you are not on time, you will not be in the procession! Please dress properly; it’s your formal graduation. In the event of poor weather, graduation will be held in the gymnasium. Each student will receive four tickets at practice for indoor seating; extra tickets are not available. No student may walk in the graduation ceremony without completing all graduation requirements and fulfilling any outstanding debts owed to the district (lunch, athletic, library, clubs, etc.).
