Safe Passage Logo Designer Awarded

Two hands hold three figures - one larger figure with its arms around two smaller ones. It’s emblematic of the community being built in Sto-Rox with the Safe Passage program, and it is now the program’s logo. The best part? It was designed by a Sto-Rox student. Anthony Dean, a senior, designed the logo through a school competition and was awarded a gift on Wednesday for his efforts. A logo is far from the only step forward the program is taking. Training for volunteers will take place Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Click here to learn how you can get involved!

The Safe Passage program was developed with several community partners to keep students safe heading home from Sto-Rox schools. Carnegie Mellon University has developed five routes where volunteers will shepherd students and respond to any issues that may arise. In partnership with groups including Allegheny Intermediate Unit and Communities in Schools of Pittsburgh-Allegheny County it’s a community-based approach that will give students and their families peace of mind.
