UPDATE, 7:25p.m. - No gun was found in the school during today’s security sweep, contrary to information currently circulating in the community. Again, the safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority.
A lockdown drill was conducted today at Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School. This included a sweep with K-9s from the Allegheny County and City of Pittsburgh police departments. This drill is part of our larger commitment to safety and security in the Sto-Rox School District. We want to reassure the students, parents/guardians, and the community that we are committed to making our district a place where students can learn and teachers can instruct, free of fear and to the best of their abilities.
