YouthPlaces

Summer Program Description: Youth Places is excited to facilitate two workshops at Sto-Rox Junior/Senior High School this summer. The entrepreneurship workshop will cover various topics to introduce youth to business and innovation. The workshop will include idea generation, market research, business planning, budgeting, and sales lessons. It will also involve interactive activities, including brainstorming sessions, group projects, and a mini business pitch competition to encourage creativity and teamwork. Additionally, we will have a guest speaker from the business community share their experiences and insights with the youth. The workshop intends to inspire and equip youth with the knowledge and skills they need to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions.

The second workshop is a practical guide to shaping young people's futures. It will cover various topics to help them explore their interests, strengths, and goals. The workshop will include self-assessment exercises to identify their skills and interests, information about different career paths and industries, guidance on setting career goals, and insight into the job market and career trends. The workshop will also involve interactive sessions with professionals from various fields to provide youth firsthand knowledge about different careers. We will also help the youth create a career portfolio. This career planning workshop empowers youth to understand how to pursue their desired career paths, making them feel prepared and confident about their future.

Both workshops are for students in grades 7th—12th. Every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in our assigned classroom, room 105.
