ORIGINAL POST, 7/18/24: The opening bell of the 2024-2025 school year will soon ring, and Sto-Rox School District is preparing to welcome students and families back with a series of fun community events. Check out the information below to learn more about what’s happening!
McKees Rocks Community Night Pop-Up
We are excited to team up with Tri-State Office Furniture and the Pittsburgh Pirates for this community celebration. It will take place on Thursday, July 25 from 5:30 - 7 p.m. at the Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School Stadium. There will be Pirates ticket giveaways, photo booths, food, a DJ and much more. It’s all meant to build the buzz for McKees Rocks Community Night at PNC Park on Wednesday, August 7 when the Pirates taken on the San Diego Padres. Community Kickball Event & Resource Fair
The district will play host to kickball games and our community partners on Sunday, August 4 from Noon - 5 p.m. The district’s Parent/Community Liason Ed Pierce is organizing this fun event that will feature - among others - Cure Violence, Focus on Renewal, McKees Rocks Community Development Corporation, Steel City Impact, and Zellous Hope. Join us for fun and exercise, learn about local resources, and register your child for Sto-Rox Kindergarten!

Back To School Celebration Title I Event
The district will host a Back To School Celebration in the lower parking lot of the Jr./Sr. High School on Saturday, August 17 from 10 a.m. - Noon featuring a school supply giveaway by 1WayOut! We are inviting community partners to join us as we prepare for our students to return to the classroom. Additionally, the Sto-Rox Football Team will host a scrimmage with Quaker Valley, also starting at 10 a.m. Again, community partners who would like to reserve a table for this event should Sandy Larcade, Coordinator of Auxiliary Services, at slarcade@srsd.k12.pa.us.
Open House Title I Events
Sto-Rox School District will welcome students and families back into each of their schools the week before classes start (the school year begins Monday, August 26).
Primary Center Open House: Tuesday, August 20, 5 - 7 p.m.
Upper Elementary Open House: Wednesday, August 21, 5 - 7 p.m.
Jr./Sr. High School Open House: Thursday, August 22, 5:30 - 7 p.m. (7th Grade Orientation Starts at 5 p.m.)

Sto-Rox Alumni Night
Graduates of Sto-Rox are encouraged to come out and enjoy the Sto-Rox Football Team as they take on South Side Beaver on Friday, August 23 at Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School Stadium. Alumni will be treated to several things including:
• Free Admission
• Seating in the Alumni Section at the 50-yard line
• Pre-Game Meet-and-Greet at 5:30 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres compliments of Hazelnut Catering, plus water and soft drinks.
• Game-worn jerseys for sale!
