The Sto-Rox School District on Sunday hosted a kickball event and resource fair at the Jr./Sr. High School. Adults played a fun game of kickball against the students on the football field. The adults - including School Board Director Adrienne Roberts, Upper Elementary Principal Heather Johnston, new Primary Center Principal Lisa Mumau, Jr./Sr. High School Assistant Principal Asia Davis, McKees Rocks Mayor David Flick, members of Cure Violence, and others - beat a good group of teens by a score of 10-5.
When it was all over, everyone enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks and snacks and met with community organizations as we all prepare to send students back to school. The district’s Parent-Community Liason Ed Pierce was on hand to organize the event and offer information to families about the district, along with district staff including Superintendent Megan Van Fossan. The district would like to thank Cure Violence, Focus on Renewal, McKees Rocks Community Development Corporation, Steel City Impact, Zellous Hope, Pittsburgh Area Community Schools, Welcome to the Table Project, and everyone else who came out enjoy a little kickball and community togetherness!
