When you’re cleaning up litter, you need all the help you can get. Especially if that help comes in the form of a giant Parrot - the Pirate Parrot, to be exact.
The Pirate Parrot, employees and Tri-State Office Furniture and members of Steel City Impact joined with Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School students on Tuesday for a Community Cleanup. Students and other volunteers, armed with gloves, rakes and trash bags, spent the morning cleaning up trash at the Jr./Sr. High School and surrounding neighborhoods.
This is the latest in a series of community cleanups organized by Tri-State, Steel City Impact and the district. Once the students worked up an appetite cleaning up litter, they were treated to pizza from Doughboy’s. We thank them and the rest of our partners - not to mention the Pirates and The Pirate Parrot - for helping make McKees Rocks and Stowe Township sparkle.
