October is a key month for high school students preparing to take the next step in their academic careers. Institutions of higher learning beckon, and students here in Sto-Rox answered the call. Check out updates on Sto-Rox students and student-athletes, courtesy of School Counselor Joe Herzing.

Waynesburg University Football Visit
It was a successful visit on and off the field for four Sto-Rox football players. They attended Waynesburg University’s Football Recruit Day. The students toured campus, met with Waynesburg’s football coaches and got to be on the sidelines during pre-game warmups. Not only that - but - the students also met with Sto-Rox graduate Diontae Givens (Class of 2021) who is a starting linebacker for the Yellow Jackets. Best of all, Waynesburg beat St. Vincent by a score of 24-0!

CCAC Allegheny Visit
Juniors and seniors from Stephanie Riccardi’s Sto-Rox/CCAC Dual Enrollment class - History 104 - visited CCAC’s Allegheny campus on Thursday, October 12. Each member of the administration gave information to students about being a college students and at the end of the day each student received their CCAC Student ID cards, making them official college students!

History 104 is a class focused on U.S. History from the early days of the republic to 1865, focusing on the political, economic and social developments of the United States from early exploration and settlement through the Civil War and the start of Reconstruction.
