UPDATE, 4:03 p.m.: We have new details on bus delays for the Primary Center. The yellow bus is delayed by 25 minutes, and all other buses are delayed by about 15 minutes. Please remember that for Kindergarteners, a parent or adult must be present at the bus stop to pick them up.
UPDATE, 3:52 p.m.: Primary Center buses may be a few minutes late, due to today’s lockdown and the impact it had on our schools’ dismissals. Primary Center buses are currently loading and will soon head out.
UPDATE, 3:04 p.m.: The lockdown has been lifted, and we will start the dismissal process for our Upper Elementary students. If any issues arise with Primary Center dismissal, we will work quickly to let parents and guardians know. Again, thank you for your patience and understanding.
UPDATE, 2:38 p.m.: The Upper Elementary and Primary Center are both locked down. No students will be dismissed until this lockdown is over. We will communicate more updates as they become available.
ORIGINAL POST, 2:22 p.m.: The Sto-Rox School District has locked down Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School just after dismissal due to an incident in the community. The district is also holding school buses scheduled to depart Sto-Rox Upper Elementary following dismissal of classes. We are doing this out of an abundance of caution, and we will communicate any changes to Primary Center dismissal once we learn more information.
The district is communicating with law enforcement and evaluating the situation. We have already sent one phone message to parents and will continue to communicate via phone, email, our website and social media platforms. We appreciate your understanding during what can be a concerning time for parents, guardians and family members.
