Sto-Rox Senior Honored with McDonald's Black History Makers of Tomorrow Award

Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School senior Danielle Clayton was honored Thursday with a special award that includes $1,000 to further her studies! Clayton is one of the 2025 honorees of the McDonald's Black History Makers of Tomorrow Award, which is given to exceptional high school seniors in Western Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland by the McDonald’s Three Rivers Operators Association.

Clayton was nominated for the award by School Counselor Joe Herzing, and was featured on Fox 53’s “The Morning Minute” with Darren Zaslau. Clayton plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Dentistry after graduation. Herzing said that in addition to maintaining a high GPA, Clayton also started her own business, “Elle Bracelets and More” that sells bracelets that honor Black art and culture.
