Get a Leg Up on Rehab at Parkway West CTC

A gateway to understanding the human body is available in the Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Therapy Technology, or SMARTT, program at Parkway West Career & Technology Center. Students who enroll in this program learn knowledge and skills that will translate into leading careers in sports medicine, rehabilitation, and exercise physiology. Careers in these fields include:

• Personal Trainer
• Athletic Trainer
• Strength & Conditioning Coach
• Occupational Therapist
• Sports Psychologist
• Dietician

According to Parkway West, “students will learn how to develop patient care plans, including assessment, evaluation, and interventions such as exercise, manual therapy, modalities, and neuro re-education.” It’s part of a comprehensive field of study that includes goal-setting and discharge plans.

The SMARTT Program is one of 16 areas of study at Parkway West CTC. The school started in the 1960’s and today, Sto-Rox is one of 12 school districts that sends students to this vocational training center. If you’re interested in learning more about the SMARTT program or would like to attend Parkway West CTC, get in touch with your guidance counselor or contact Parkway West.
