Sto-Rox Schools Under Modified Lockdown

UPDATE, 12:53 p.m.: We are lifting lock downs at the Primary Center and Upper Elementary. The Jr./Sr. High School will remain locked down until the end of the school day.

ORIGINAL POST, 11:31 a.m.:

Dear Sto-Rox Community,

Students and staff at all three Sto-Rox schools are currently under a modified lockdown out of an abundance of caution. Unsubstantiated threats have been made against local school districts, and while the district believes there is no immediate danger, we are taking every possible precaution.

The safety and security of our district community is our top priority. The district is communicating with local law enforcement. We will continue to work with public safety officials to ensure any potential problems are effectively handled.

We know situations like this can be worrisome, especially in light of recent tragic events at schools in Tennessee and Colorado. The district urges parents, guardians, and students to contact our counseling staff with concerns.

Sincerely,
Megan Marie Van Fossan
Superintendent of Schools
