Sto-Rox Primary Center students were treated to some ‘basketball magic’ courtesy of a wizard - specifically, a Harlem Wizard. Gerald "Skywalker" Warrick, a member of the Harlem Wizards, dropped by the Primary Center on Friday in an event sponsored by Pittsburgh Area Community Schools (PACS).
According to Principal Lisa Mumau, students heard an uplifting and encouraging message from Skywalker. He discussed the importance of coming to school, being active in school and the community, and working hard to accomplish one’s dreams.
Skywalker performed basketball tricks and for the students, even bringing teachers Tim Athanas and Bill McClintock in on the fun. The program started with an acknowledgement of 11 students who had perfect attendance from the first day of school. Those students received an award, plus a balloon and a Roblox gift card.
The district thanks its hardworking students, staff, and PACS for their roles in this wonderful event!
