The Sto-Rox School District community has a new member of its leadership team. Kimberly Spriggs was sworn in Monday to fill the vacant school board seat in Region 2 (Stowe Township).
“I am excited to start this new adventure and contribute to positive changes happening within the district,” said Spriggs.
Spriggs is no stranger to working with children and families. She is the Kindergarten Readiness teacher at the McKees Rocks Family Center, located inside Focus on Renewal. She said she has always supported and advocated for children in the Sto-Rox community, and she loves to volunteer.
Spriggs was appointed to her new post at last Wednesday’s school board meeting at Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School. The next meeting is set for Thursday, May 19th, at the same location, at 7:00 p.m. Spriggs’ term runs through the next general election, in November.
In addition, the district is also looking to fill another vacancy on the school board, for Region 3 (At-Large). Read more about that here: https://www.srsd.k12.pa.us/sto-roxnews/school-board-vacancy-region-3-at-large
