A golf outing honoring one of Sto-Rox’s key sports figures will be held next month. The Rich Cercone Golf Outing is being planned for Saturday, October 8th at Stonecrest Golf Course in Wampum. Rich Cercone Jr. was a district teacher and baseball coach who passed away unexpectedly. In 1985, Cercone coached Sto-Rox to its only WPIAL Baseball Championship.
All proceeds from the outing will benefit the Sto-Rox Athletic Department. Each entry is $85, and you can sponsor a tee for $50. The event will start at 8:30 a.m. with registration and breakfast, with a modified shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. Snyder Brothers Auto will provide dinner.
