Pursuing a career working with ‘man’s best friend’ can become a reality with the Veterinary Assistant Technology program at Parkway West Career & Technology Center. This speciality will give students the lessons and hands-on training to work as a veterinary assistant.
Parkway West CTC is one of just seven secondary schools in the U.S. certified by NAVTA, the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America. The Veterinary Assistant Technology program is extensive; students will learn how to assistant veterinarians with their exams, practice procedures, prepare for surgeries, learn how to keep records, and much more. Most importantly, the knowledge they gain will help them build a career serving animals.
Veterinary Assistant Technology is one of 16 areas of study at Parkway West CTC. The school started in the 1960’s and today, Sto-Rox is one of 12 school districts that sends students to this vocational training center.
