One of Sto-Rox’s top sports figures will be honored later this fall with a day on the links in his memory. The Rich Cercone Memorial Golf Outing is planned for Saturday, October 7 at Stonecrest Golf Course in Wampum. Registration and a continental breakfast will be held at 8:30 a.m., with play starting at 9:30.

More than $4,000 was raised and donated to the Sto-Rox Athletic Department in Rich Cercone’s name, which the Sto-Rox School District greatly appreciates! Cercone was a district teacher and baseball coach who passed away unexpectedly. In 1985, Cercone coached Sto-Rox to its only WPIAL Baseball Championship.
