Good afternoon,
Just over an hour ago, we locked down all Sto-Rox schools in response to a community incident in Kennedy Township. The lockdown was done out of an abundance of caution. It lasted approximately 15 minutes, and no one in our schools was in any danger.
We know lockdowns can be stressful for everyone – students, parents, and staff – and we do not approach them lightly. Safety is our top priority. The district wants to get information out as quickly as possible, but we do not want to compromise our relationships with first responders or cause people undue stress. Please know that social media is just one method of communication; it gives us an opportunity to release what we know, as fast as we can, while gathering more information. We encourage you to reach out with any questions or concerns you have.
Thanks for your understanding,
