Two school buses filled with eighth and ninth grade students from Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School rolled up to Parkway West Career and Technology Center late Friday morning. For some, this school was a place they had never seen before. For others, it was a place they wanted to visit again.
Parkway West hosted middle school students from Sto-Rox and the 11 other school districts who send students there. For the second time this month, the school opened its doors to younger students for a Career Exploration Day, so they could get a taste of the programs offered by the school. From working with cosmetology models, to checking out athletic training equipment, to looking at automotive technology, Sto-Rox students saw many examples of future careers.
Check out the photo gallery to see a sampling of the students’ experience. If a Sto-Rox student is interested in taking classes at Parkway West, please reach out to your child’s guidance counselor or to Parkway West directly. Questions are always encouraged, and we hope to see you in class - and in the trades!
