For the second straight spring, there will be flag football in Sto-Rox. The Girls Flag Football Team returns with Head Coach Lauren Ferragonio. The team’s only two home games take place this Sunday, at 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. at Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School. Click through for more details!

Students at Sto-Rox Primary Center and Upper Elementary recently got a taste of different kinds of fruits and vegetables thanks to their peers at the Jr./Sr. High School. Members of Elena Mott’s Family & Consumer Science classes went ‘up the hill’ on April 3 and 4 to put on a taste test, offering pineapple and brussels sprouts.

Our partners at Steel City Impact are preparing for their summer after-school program in Sto-Rox that runs from Monday, June 17 through Thursday, July 25. The program, in partnership with Focus on Renewal (FOR), is for students entering 7th - 11th grades and will take place Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm. at Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School.

The 2024 Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School Prom is set for Saturday, May 4, 6:30 - 10:30 p.m. at Sophia’s Event Center in Coraopolis. Watch this space for more information, and click through for details on Project Prom, a service that helps eligible teens get dresses and tuxes for their big night!

Due to the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024 we will be dismissing all classes at Noon. The eclipse is scheduled to pass over western Pennsylvania between approximately 2:00 - 4:30 p.m. with a total eclipse occurring between 3:15 - 3:20 p.m. for northwestern Pennsylvania. Open the door to Sto-Rox Upper Elementary on a late winter evening, and you’re greeted by a barrage of sounds. The squeak of sneakers on polished wood. The shouts of boys passing a basketball. The applause of an audience filled with families of those boys. They are sounds that weren’t being heard before this year, because this was the first season of the Upper Elementary Boys Basketball Program at Sto-Rox School District.

Sto-Rox Athletics is holding a get-together for alumni and friends - an Alumni Social - in an effort to get everyone up to speed on the status of the Vikings’ athletic programs. This Sto-Rox Athletics Alumni Social will be held Friday, April 19 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at JD’s Joint in Kennedy Township.

Dressed in Sto-Rox green and holding candles signifying the bright lights of their selection, Sto-Rox students were inducted Tuesday evening into the National Honor Society (NHS). A ceremony was held at Father Ryan Arts Center, where inductees and their families - nearly 100 people - enjoyed dinner and the induction ceremony.
