May has arrived, and by the end of the month the Sto-Rox Class of 2024 will have graduated! Below is a letter from School Counselor Joe Herzing detailing what seniors (and parents and guardians of those seniors) need to know as they head down the road to graduation. Dear Sto-Rox Parents/Guardians of Seniors,
There are some important dates, times and events you need to be aware of as we approach the end of the year.
Caps and Gowns – cost is $25, cash only, can be purchased in the main High School Office. They are expected to be available in early May. Please make sure to purchase it early and hang it up to get the wrinkles out.
Prom – May 4 at Sophias Event Center in Kennedy Twp. Students may begin arriving at 6:30 PM and doors close by 7:30 PM. Students may not leave Prom prior to 10:00 PM.
Senior Award Night – May 22 at 7:00 PM – High School Auditorium. Although open to all seniors, those seniors receiving an award or recognition will be informed prior to the event.
Senior Athletic Banquet – May 28 at 5:30 PM – McKees Rocks VFW. All sports, cheer, and band seniors will be recognized. Athletes, Coaches, Kids 12 and under are free. Parents and guests $20 each. RSVP to: rbutschle@srsd.k12.pa.us by May 21st.
Senior Breakfast – May 31 at 8:00 AM – meet in the cafeteria for a catered final class breakfast.
Graduation Practice – May 31 at 9:00 AM – meet in the cafeteria, attendance mandatory.
Graduation Ceremony – May 31 at 7:00 P.M. on the High School Football Field, students must arrive at 6:15 P.M. in the cafeteria. Not on time, not in procession! Please dress properly; it’s your formal graduation. In the event of poor weather, graduation will be held in the gymnasium. Each student will receive 4 tickets at practice for indoor seating, extra tickets are not available.
No student may walk in the graduation ceremony without completing all graduation requirements and fulfilling any outstanding debts owed to the district (lunch, athletics, library, clubs, etc.). If you have any questions, please contact me at 412-771-3213 ext. 4103 or jherzing@srsd.k12.pa.us.
