The McKees Rocks Bridge will close in each direction on Thursday, March 23 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Since the closure overlaps with the end of the school day at Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School, the district wants to make sure parents are informed. Traffic will be detoured to the West End Bridge. Thursday’s closure is part of the McKees Rocks Bridge Preservation Project that started last fall and is expected to end in fall of 2024.
During Thursday’s closure, crews will remove overhead signage. The overall project includes pavement reconstruction, sidewalk and barrier repairs, fence installation and much more. Traffic is currently reduced to a single lane in each direction.
