Drives will be hit, putts will be sunk, and good times will be had a little earlier this year during the Rich Cercone Memorial Golf Outing. The event, which supports Sto-Rox Athletics, is planned for Saturday, August 10 at Fox Run Golf Course in Beaver Falls. The event is moving up from its previous fall date and is moving to Fox Run to replace the recently closed Stonecrest Golf Course.

Registration and coffee will start at 8:00 a.m. Golfing will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a modified shotgun start. Payment and registration are due to Mike Cercone by Sunday, July 28. Dinner, sponsored by Snyder Brothers Auto, will follow the day’s golfing. Registration costs $100 per golfer. Tee sponsorships are available at a cost of $50 per sign.
This event honors Rich Cercone, a Sto-Rox School District teacher and baseball coach who passed away unexpectedly in 2021. Cercone is a legend in Sto-Rox Athletics, as he led Sto-Rox to its only WPIAL Baseball Championship in 1985. Last year, event organizers donated $6,000 dollars in Rich’s memory to the Sto-Rox Athletic Department. In the last two years, this event has generated $10,000, and the Sto-Rox School District greatly appreciates the support!
