Sto-Rox Students Fly Balloons 'Over Broadway'

• by AIU Communications Specialist Melissa Meyers •
Sto-Rox third graders celebrated the holiday season on Tuesday by participating in an engaging cross curricular activity revolving around the story Balloons over Broadway. Students explored the history of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, discussing innovation in balloon design, traditions, and innovation.

The culminating activity is creating balloon floats and parading them around for the entire school to see. This annual activity not only taps into student creativity, but also problem solving, teamwork and presenting completed projects. It’s just another example of the Primary Center mixing learning with real-world events.
