Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School will host representatives from the Pittsburgh Child Advocacy Center of UPMC Children’s Hospital on Wednesday, January 17. The representatives will present information on topics ranging from internet safety to cyberbullying to 8th graders.

Sto-Rox School District schools will be closed on Monday, January 15, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. During this holiday, people are encouraged to participate in a day of service to honor Dr. King and his contributions to the U.S. Civil Rights Movement.

Sto-Rox School District has won a $3,500 grant to help create a digital lending library, allowing the district to better equip students with computers. The grant, a 2024 ASSA/Sourcewell Helping Kids Mini Grant, will be delivered to the district in the next few weeks.

Sto-Rox School District can report that Kayla Durler has been found. We are pleased that she has been located and we thank everyone, including our law enforcement and media partners, who participated in the efforts to locate her. We will provide further updates as they become available.

This evening, an odor was detected in the athletic and music wing of Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School. No gas was detected by Columbia Gas during their inspection of the building. However, in order to ensure the well-being of our Jr./Sr. High School students and staff, we have decided to conduct virtual learning for students in grades 7-12 tomorrow (Friday), January 5, 2024. The Sto-Rox Vikings Boys Varsity Basketball Team will hit the road on Wednesday, January 3 to take on Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (OLSH).
