Superheroes, princesses, dinosaurs and many other creatures marched on Friday in the Sto-Rox Primary Center’s Halloween Parade! The school invited parents to watch students walk around the school in their costumes ahead Halloween, which will take place on Tuesday - when classes are not in session.

Games were played, math lessons were learned and treats were enjoyed Wednesday evening at Sto-Rox Upper Elementary. The ‘Monster Math’ Title I event was held in the Upper Elementary Gymnasium and Cafeteria.

When you’re cleaning up litter, you need all the help you can get. Especially if that help comes in the form of a giant Parrot - the Pirate Parrot, to be exact. The Pirate Parrot, employees and Tri-State Office Furniture and members of Steel City Impact joined with Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School students on Tuesday for a Community Cleanup.

Students at Sto-Rox Primary Center and Upper Elementary got a taste of something a little different last week, thanks to their counterparts at the Jr./Sr. High School. Students from Elena Mott’s Advanced Food Science class prepared, presented and served spaghetti squash and beets!

The Sto-Rox Girls Volleyball Team will host its final game of the season on Thursday when Our Lady of the Sacred Heart comes to the Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School gym. It will be the Senior Night game, and that means there will be a special ceremony at 5:45 p.m. ahead of the game, which starts at 6:30 p.m.

Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High School students got an up-close look at manufacturing careers earlier this month in Pittsburgh. Students attended ‘Manufacturing Day’ at Hazelwood Green’s Mill 19. The event, sponsored by Catalyst Connection, was an opportunity for high school students to learn about careers in Pittsburgh’s various manufacturing industries.

Do you want to be a Nittany Lion? That question was hanging over the heads of Sto-Rox students assembled in the Jr./Sr. High School Cafeteria on Monday morning. A representative from Penn State University was there to walk students through the application process and talk about everything Penn State has to offer.
